Updated Audience Feedback
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TNCN2WQ
Above is the link to your Survey Monkey survey, this is a tool that we used to gather anonymous audience feedback on our music video specifically so we could make improvements. Most of the questions on this survey are quite open ended so that the people who fill it out can give their honest opinions on anything that they noticed was done well, or poorly in our rough cut and final product.
Above is the audience feedback from the rough cut of our music video, we used this to make updates to the music video and applied the criticisms seen here so that they would not be present in the final music video. After gathering this feedback, we understood that we may need more footage to use during editing, as well as changing certain things about the way the footage we already had was edited in order to make a more successful product in the end.
This is the audience feedback from our final music video. We used this to reflect on our progress and the transition from rough cut to finished product. We were happy to find that some of the errors that our peers had mentioned in the rough cut did not appear again in the final video. This meant that we were successful at applying the criticisms provided to us in order to improve our final product.
Filming Day 2
On the second day we filmed more of the narrative of our music video. We shot the scenes of Kendall on her own, as well as the male performer leaving her. We referenced a real professional video from the industry, a scene similar to that from blank space was used, where the two performers carved their initials into a tree, thinking their relationship would last forever. However later we also filmed a scene that shows Kendall giving up hope on their relationship and ever getting back together.

Audience Feedback
This is the video audience feedback that we gathered from people who watched our finished music video.
Constructing the Magazine Advert.
To construct the advert, we also used photoshop. For the sake of consistency, we imported the same image and used the same font as was seen on the digipak.
Following this, we used a different font in order to make the artists name stand out, as well as correctly advertising that she had a new album coming out.
We then added some five star reviews from popular websites to make it seem like a more realistic product.
Constructing the Digipak
To create or digipak we used photoshop, this is because we had to manipulate six different images into one coherent package. We wanted the front and the back of the digipak to have flow and consistency, to achieve this we used a tree as the spine, so half of it could be seen on the front and the other half could be seen on the back. This achieved a feeling of consistency and coherent design.
We made sure to add a centimetre in the middle for the spine of the digipak, so everything remained in proportion and would appear the same as the physical product would.
For the text that could be seen on the digipak, we used a custom font which we downloaded from the website DaFont. This was not already available within photoshop and we felt as though it would be the best fit for this particular image. The font we used is called delectable.
For the inside panel of our digipak we used the same image of the tree with the white background, the reasoning behind this choice was to have continuity within our design. This panel includes information on the artist as well as the rights to the songs.
Next, we needed three images for the inside of the digipak, we wanted to get images that followed the theme of the songs in the album, which were relationships and break ups. We added a filter over these three images to make them seem similar and more fitting to be placed next to each other in the digipak. One of the images is also faded, specifically the guy, as the song covers the topic of breaking up.
Finally, the images were added onto the digipak and the final product could be visualised. We inserted a CD holder into the middle image, but we did not want to disrupt the look of the pictures, so we made the CD look like a picture of the couple together.

Rough Cut/Feedback
Here is the rough cut of our music video, we will show this to some of our peers and get feedback which we will apply to our finished product
What went well: Lip synching, pace of editing and the performance of the artist. Our artists ability to play the part was probably the strongest point of your video.
What to improve: Locations, clarifying the narrative as well as fixing the steadiness with some of our shots.

First Editing Update
We made a start on editing our music video. We decided to have the train scene at the start of the video, even before the music starts, as an establishing shot, the purpose of this is to tell our audience that the performer is leaving her past behind. We have several ideas for the rest of the video which will be discussed in future update posts.

Digipak Cover Practise
Digipak Cover Practise
The above image is a compilation of random elements, a random image taken from flickr as the background, the title of a random wikipedia article as the Band Name and a quote as the name of the album. Division of Hunter may not mean much to the audience but it is a memorable name which is why I thought it was suitable.
Today I learned how to use photoshop presets to give a new look to an image. Giving the background layer a texture change is especially effective because the image was visibly blurry prior to the application of this change, but now it is impossible to tell, everything looks intentional.

Filming Day 1
Although I was not able to attend this day, the group filmed the first scene to our music video! We had a slight change in location as the dance studio we planned to use had been book so instead we used one of the Drama studios at our school. We also had a slight change in costume as our artist had misplaced her plaid so instead she wore a plain black t shirt as this would contrast with her hair and make her stand out. Overall we had a successful first day filming; we managed to get a large variety of great shots which we cant wait to use.

Audience Research - Vox Pop
Today on 10/14/14, we conducted some audience research which included asking people questions relating to music videos. Our questions were the following;
1. What is your favourite genre of music video?
This question allows us to look into what kind of music the people around us are into, which lets us gauge how well our video will do.
2. Who is your favourite artist/group?
This question is further investigating what kind of music our peers listen to regularly.
3. Do you watch music videos regularly?
This question helps us to better understand whether or not what we are producing will be liked by our peers, which is important because it helps us establish who our target audience should be.
4. What platform do you watch them on?
This question helps us understand where we should upload our video and make it available for it to get the most exposure.
5. What is your favourite music video and why?
This question may influence how we edit, and whether or not we try to replicate certain editing styles of some of the named videos.
These questions allowed us to sample what genre was popular among our peer group.
The video can be seen below:
